Christianity is true
I’ve always been a tireless advocate of telling personal stories testifying of the good things that God has done for us. King David in Psalm 26 said:
6 I wash my hands in innocence
and go around your altar, O Lord,
7 proclaiming thanksgiving aloud,
and telling all your wondrous deeds.
Then I stumbled on a YouTube video entitled, “Why I Rarely Share My Personal Testimony and Why You Shouldn’t Be Quick to Share Yours.“
The title stumped me.
The speaker J Warner Wallace is a homicide detective, a once devout atheist who turned devout Christian. He used his many years of detective skills to investigate the Bible. His investigations led him to become an avid follower of Jesus and a teacher of the Bible.
He said:
I’m not a Christian today because I was raised in church. I wasn’t.
I’m also not a Christian because it “works for me.”
I am a Christian today for one reason: Christianity is true.
I will not stop telling human stories. But I will also use this blog to talk about the Bible because like Wallace, “I am a Christian today for one reason: Christianity IS true.“
